He first appeared on the big screen in a short role in the 2008 romantic comedy film Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi, starring Shah Rukh Khan and Anushka Sharma.
Before attaining stardom, Tacker had to struggle, often being paid very little or nothing at all. He had untoward experiences like the casting couch.
Tacker made his debut on the small screen in the television soap opera Love Ne Mila Di Jodi that aired on STAR One from June 2009 to February 2010. He had the lead role of Sameer Saxena.
